Celebrated for their exquisite vocal artistry and virtuosic
ensemble singing, the members of the a capella group Anonymous 4
combine their musical, literary, and historical scholarship with
contemporary performance to create ingenious programs that
interweave exceptional music with poetry and narrative. They
return to the Kennedy Center for the first time in four years
with “Wolcum Yule,” an entrancing holiday concert featuring
Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols and other works, both old
and new, from the British Isles. “Anonymous 4 is a veritable
star among early-music groups….In addition to minutely accurate
pitch and an almost heavenly blend, they demonstrate an
extraordinary mastery of the innate style and personality of
these songs” (The Denver Post). Harp virtuoso Alyssa Reit joins
the ensemble for music accompanied by Celtic and Medieval harp.
