About

Kennedy Center Chamber Ensemble-In-Residence

"There is no finer piano trio" than the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio.
--The Chicago Sun-Times

The Miami String Quartet produces "rich, precisely balanced sound."
--The New York Times

For more than 30 years, the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio has been the reigning exemplar for the piano trio. Famed for its expressiveness and warmth, the trio has been appointed Chamber Ensemble-in-Residence at the Kennedy Center, and has been awarded several honors, including Musical America's Ensemble of the Year for 2002. Joining the threesome are their longtime collaborators, the Miami String Quartet, who have quickly established themselves as one of the most respected quartets in America. The all-French program begins with Joseph Kalichstein and Sharon Robinson in Fauré's much-loved √Člégie, followed by Miami String Quartet in Debussy's majestic String Quartet and the trio members in Ravel's shimmering Piano Trio. The program concludes as both ensembles come together for Chausson's rich and passionate Concerto for Piano, Violin, and String Quartet.
