The new season begins with a Fortas first: an entire evening dedicated to string sextets. Comprised of six core virtuoso string players who are all alumni of The Juilliard School, Concertante has acquired an ardent following and numerous accolades over the past decade. The group's eclectic repertoire ranges from works by established masters to world-premiere commissions. For its Kennedy Center debut, Concertante will perform string sextets by Martinu and Dvorák, as well as Tchaikovsky's virtuosic "Souvenir de Florence."
