About

Celebrating their 50th anniversary, American Brass Quintet has historically been a leader in introducing original works for brass to chamber music audiences. They continue their crusade as the "high priests of brass" (Newsweek) in a performance that spans five centuries and six composers. The warm, crisp sound of American Brass Quintet swings from a reworking of Renaissance Chansons by Josquin des Prés to contemporary pieces, such as David Sampson's Entrance and Joan Tower's Copperwave--a bending and malleable tribute to brass's key metallic ingredient.
