About

Enjoy an evening of Schubert from one of chamber music's "foremost trios with the greatest longevity...bring(ing) to worldwide audiences their expressive and exhilarating interpretations" (Musical America). Performing Schubert's Trio in B-flat, the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio gives audiences a look at the composer's companionable, avuncular side. This bouncing and upbeat piece affords the Kennedy Center Chamber Ensemble-in-Residence the chance to show off their playful style. Then, in an exploration of the darker side of Schubert's wavering personality, the Trio performs his Trio in E-flat--a piece that is gigantic, dramatic, and, at times, painful. This is a rare opportunity to view the dual sides of Schubert in one performance.
