About

Part of Chamber Music Across America

The Fortas series presentation of merged ensembles continues with this powerhouse coupling of the Orion String Quartet and the wind quintet Windscape in an all-Bach program with many colors and hues. The Orion String Quartet, who the Washington Post says "perform with commitment and striking intelligence," is one of the most sought-after ensembles in the United States. Their rich history of collaboration lists projects and performances with the likes of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Pinchas Zukerman, Yo-Yo Ma, and many more. Here, they are united with the five members of Windscape, whom the Boston Globe characterizes as "fabulously skilled, much sought-after, and usually footloose New York musicians who can tackle anything--repeat, anything." For this concert, both groups will be tackling one of Bach's finest masterpieces.
