About

With his gift for bebop, ballads, blues, and swinging jazz, baritone Kevin Mahogany has been called "the standout jazz vocalist of his generation" (Newsweek) and Billboard has declared him to be "unquestionably one of today's most exciting and musically adept jazz vocalists." With roots in Kansas City, the multi-talented Mahogany began performing professionally as a baritone saxophonist at the age of 12 and discovered his gift for singing only in his senior year of high school. Since then, he has released more than 11 recordings as a leader and quite a few as a sideman. In 1998, he was voted DownBeat's Male Vocalist of the Year.
