He brings Proclamation of Hope, the large-scale multimedia composition for wind ensemble, rhythm section, and voicecommissioned by and premiered at the Ravinia Festival in 2009. Composed by Lewis and scored by Scott Hall, the work celebrates one of the most famous Americans ever, Abraham Lincoln, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his birth. The Chicago Tribune calls it "a persuasive merger of jazz and classical idioms" and "some of the most eloquent music of Lewis's career."
