Grammy-winning vocalist and Kennedy Center favorite Kurt Elling returns with 1619 Broadway: The Brill Building Project. The concert features music from his recently released recording, highlighting songs from New York's Brill Building, famous for its musical tenants: Paul Simon, Duke Ellington, and Carole King. The Financial Times gives 1619 Broadway 4 stars, praising "its beautifully crafted, razor-edged mix of bittersweet ballads, reconfigured doo-wop, and upgraded soul." Both a fan favorite and critical darling, Elling has won Male Vocalist of the Year from DownBeat Critics Poll 13 times, the DownBeat Readers Poll 6 times, and the JazzTimes Readers Poll 7 times.
