Soprano Kathleen Battle, whose voice has been called "one of the very few most beautiful in the world" (The Washington Post), is accompanied by jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut to perform the D.C. premiere of Something to Sing About. Making her opera debut in 1975, Battle has expanded across many genres and has collaborated with jazz greats including Wynton Marsalis and Herbie Hancock. The concert features classic jazz and ragtime works by Gershwin, Ellington, Joplin, and others.
