The late saxophonist Frank Wess spent his formative years in Washington, D.C., exploring the city with his lifelong friend and fellow NEA Jazz Master, the late Dr. Billy Taylor (Kennedy Center Artistic Director for Jazz, 1994–2010). Paying tribute to Wess in concert--in his birthday month of January--are members of his final working band, including drummer Winard Harper, bassist Noriko Ueda, trumpeter Terell Stafford, guitarist Ilya Lushtak, and pianist Michael Weiss. Scott Robinson performs on saxophone.

Performance Timing: 75 minutes, with no intermission.
