Since its inception as Howard University’s premier vocal jazz ensemble in 2002 by Connaitre Miller, Afro Blue has quickly gained national attention. The dynamic “vocal big band” has been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered, reached the top four in 2011 on NBC’s a cappella group competition The Sing-Off, and joined the legendary Bobby McFerrin in selections from his Grammy Award®-nominated VOCAbuLarieS album during the 2011 DC Jazz Festival.
