About

For the 23rd year, we highlight the legacy of pianist, composer, educator, and humanitarian Mary Lou Williams (1910–1981) with a night of phenomenal music from American jazz pianist Amina Claudine Myers with her Trio; Israeli native clarinetist Anat Cohen with her Tentet (Musical Director Oded Lev-Ari), and New Orleans piano/cello duo Courtney Bryan and Gary Washington.

A trailblazer who taught herself to play piano as a child, Williams wrote hundreds of compositions and collaborated with jazz greats including Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and Duke Ellington.
