NSO Teddy Bear Concert: More Tunes 'n' (Pig) Tales!
Saturday, May 3, 2008 - Saturday, May 10, 2008
During Teddy Bear concerts, inspired by a popular family concert tradition in Europe, children ages three to five bring their favorite stuffed animal to interactive musical programs featuring members of the NSO.
Treat your children to this wonderful concert just like they do in Europe! Kids can bring their favorite stuffed animal to this interactive program and have their teddy bear friend join in all the fun. Lasting approximately 45 minutes, it's perfect for even the youngest music lovers in your family.
Enjoy even more stories with music, this time through a very unusual combination of instruments: NSO principals Marissa Regni on violin and Dotian Levalier on harp, with Marissa's father Albert Regni on four different saxophones. The program features musical selections about animals including TheThree Pigs, Teddy Bear Rag, The Swan, and Baby Elephant Walk. Along with full-sized instruments, the musicians will perform on their miniature counterparts--a toy piano, sopranino saxophone, and a tiny violin. For ages 3 and up.
Come early for "Musical Playtime." Starting a half hour before each Teddy Bear Concert, enjoy music and movement activities in the Kennedy Center Atrium especially designed for small children. A project of the Women's Committee for the NSO.
