Latvian organist Iveta Apkalna is a leading performer steeped in the traditions of Eastern Europe. Combining deep musicality and irreproachable technique, Apkalna has become a rising star of this beautiful instrument. She has won numerous prizes, including the ECHO-Klassik prize of Instrumentalist of the Year--the first organist ever to receive this honor--for her world premiere recording of Jean Guillou's transcription of Prokofiev's Toccata.


Please note: the National Symphony Orchestra does not perform in this presentation.
