About

"James Ehnes has turned into gold every note touched by his violin bow," says the Toronto Star. He makes his NSO debut with Prokofiev's Second Violin Concerto, infused with graceful melodies, warm tones, and a nomadic charm that mixes traditional Russian folk music with Spanish accents, including castanets.

Gianandrea Noseda also conducts Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 and the first NSO performances of music by Casella. "There's no mistaking the quality of his conducting or the level of commitment he brings to it," says The Guardian.
