Australian violinist Ray Chen was the First Prize Winner of the 2009 Queen Elisabeth Violin Competition of Belgium, as well as the 2008-09 YCA International Auditions and the Ronald A. Asherson First Prize. He plays the Macmillan, a 1721 Antonio Stradivarius violin on loan to him through Young Concert Artists. In 2008 he made his debut in Russia, playing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the Mariinsky Orchestra. Performance Timing: Part One - 40 min.; Intermission - 20 min.; Part Two - 30 min.
