Discovered by the noted Graham Johnson, lovely German soprano Lydia Teuscher has been a prize-winner in several German and French music competitions. She has appeared in Dresden Opera and has been featured in the Glyndebourne, Aix-en-Provence, and Salzburg festivals. She has performed in recital with Graham Johnson in London, Cologne, and Antwerp. Mr. Johnson will offer introductory remarks on the influence of English literature on German lieder. Ms. Teuscher sings selections by Haydn, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Schumann, and Strauss which illustrate this theme.
