America's Heritage Salute via Our Voices: Music of the Past, Today & Tomorrow
To mark the 50th anniversary year celebration of the 1964 Civil rights Act, the 105 Voices of History National Choir, Orchestra, and Jazz Band present a program hosted by 12-time stellar award-winning "Godfather of Gospel Jazz" Ben Tankard and featuring "50 BEST of the BEST" collegiate talents, both vocalists and instrumentalists, from among the U.S. Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The performance showcases jazz, choral, and gospel music from the civil rights period with highlights of Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, favorites of Martin Luther King Jr., as well as Wynton Marsalis and a "Composer of Tomorrow."
