Choral Arts Chorus and Orchestra

Unique among requiems, Brahms's non-traditional Ein deutsches Requiem is a meditation on mortality from a humanist point of view, with seven movements based on verses from German Lutheran scripture. Paired with a world premiere commission from composer Zachary Wadsworth on a Walt Whitman text, this concert is dedicated to the memory of CAS Founder and Artistic Director Emeritus Norman Scribner (1936 - 2015).

Performance Timing: Approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission
