Opera Lafayette's first program of the 2018-2019 season is a modern premiere of the Neapolitan master Niccolò Jomelli's 1772 Cerere Placata. Drawn from the story of Demeter (Ceres in the Roman mythos), the Greek goddess of agriculture, and her daughter Persephone (Proserpina in the Roman), Cerere Placata is about the separation and reconciliation of mother and daughter.
