"When I'm good, I'm very good," Mae West says with a wink, "but when I'm bad, I'm better." This Broadway hit invites you to peer beneath the bombshell to meet the woman that was Mae West - a woman who became a captive of the caricature she herself created. The oozing sexuality and double entendres that won West her enduring fame are all on display, but so are her attempts at true love and finding her own way in a star-struck world. In a fascinating turn, the play follows two of West's fans as they discover a bit of the Mae West swagger in their own shy and lonely lives.
A new comedy by Claudia Shear and directed by James Lapine. Claudia Shear, Tony nominated for writing and starring in "Dirty Blonde," will perform for the first three weeks of the engagement. Sally Mayes wil take over the role played by Claudia Shear from January 2 thru January 6.
