About

Kreeger String Series
Sol Gabetta, cello
with Alessio Bax, piano

Born of Russian-French parents in Argentina, the charismatic cellist Sol Gabetta is forging an impressive career, is the director of her own chamber music festival, and receives invitations for recital and orchestral soloist performances from around the world. The Glasgow Herald wrote of her concert appearance in 2009, "Wit, aristocratic poise and elegance; mercurial shifts of mood, intensity and lightness of touch in near-miraculous balance; broad bruch strokes and finely-drawn lines."

There will be a post performance Q&A with the artists, moderated by WPAS's Neale Perl.

Performance Timing: One hour, 40 minutes, including one 18-minute intermission.
