Yo-Yo Ma, cello

Yo-Yo Ma
's multi-faceted career is a testament to his continual search for new ways to communicate with audiences and to his personal desire for artistic growth and renewal. Whether performing new or familiar works from the cello repertoire, coming together with colleagues for chamber music, or exploring cultures and musical forms outside the Western classical tradition, Mr. Ma strives to find connections that stimulate the imagination. He returns to the Concert Hall stage playing Bach, about which the New York Times has declared, "As always, a rich tone and smooth, legato phrasing are his signatures... to say nothing of the dynamic nuance that you won't find on the pages of Bach's score."

Performance Timing:  Part One - 47 min.; Intermission - 15 min.; Part Two - 32 min.

Stage seats are available for this concert but only for purchase by phone or in person at the Box Office.
