Washington Performing Arts presents:
Yekwon Sunwoo, piano, in Recital

Gold medalist of the 2017 Van Cliburn Piano Competition (which has been streamed by five million people and counting) and already a seasoned international performer at venues such as Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall, Yekwon Sunwoo expertly balances technical ferocity with deep lyricism. His program includes Strauss's Ramble on the Last Love Duet from Der Rosenkavalier (arr. Grainger); Four Impromptus, D. 935 by Schubert; and Brahms's Sonata No. 3 in F minor, Op. 5.

“A genuine poetic sensibility, a way of making the music his own and telling you things about it you had not heard before.”
 (Chicago Tribune)

Performance Timing: Part One - 44 min.; Intermission - 15 min.; Part Two - 40 min.

NOTE: Yekwon Sunwoo will sign CDs following the performance, in the States Gallery outside of the Terrace Theater.
