Washington Performing Arts presents:
Hilary Hahn, violin, in Recital

Now a three-time Grammy-winner, universally acknowledged as one of our era’s greatest violinists—and a longtime favorite of Washington Performing Arts audiences—Hilary Hahn returns to the music that launched her recording career in this performance of Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin by Johann Sebastian Bach—Sonata No. 1 in G minor, BWV 1001; Partita No. 1 in B minor, BWV 1002; Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004.

“Bach is, for me, the touchstone that keeps my playing honest,” Hahn once told St. Paul Sunday. “One can’t fake things in Bach, and if one gets all of them to work, the music sings in the most wonderful way.”

Performance Timing: Part One - 53 min.; Intermission - 20 min.; Part Two - 33 min.

NOTE: Hilary Hahn will sign CDs following the performance, in the States Gallery outside the Terrace Theater entrance.
