About

One of Finland's most popular and successful directors, Aku Louhimies creates a series of parallel stories all taking place in one of Helsinki's most popular neighborhoods during a week in winter. During that time, each of the film's principal characters will have to confront some situation they see as irreversible; racism, xenophobia, bullying, and unemployment are among its themes, but Louhimies seems especially concerned with describing the sense of being an outsider in a modern welfare state that has always stressed communal ideals. His stories cross, crisscross, and double-back again, forming a portrait of a society very much in transition.

Part of Nordic Cool 2013.
