About

Piano Marathon with Aldo López Gavilán and Jorge Luis Pacheco

Two of Cuba’s premier jazz pianists join forces for a singular concert. Aldo López-Gavilán excels in both the classical and jazz worlds as a recitalist, concerto soloist, and performer of his own electrifying compositions. He has also played a very active role in the development of cultural exchange between the U.S. and Cuba. Jorge Luis Pacheco is a fiery young pianist with “flying hands.” He has performed all over the world, including such prominent clubs and festivals as Dizzy’s Jazz at Lincoln Center and New York’s Blue Note Jazz Festival. A passionate, extravagant, exciting entertainer, Pacheco is a virtuoso pianist, composer, arranger, percussionist, and vocalist.

NOTE: Aldo López Gavilán will sign CDs following the performance, in the States Gallery outside of the Terrace Theater.
