About

Showcasing a style often described as shy, sultry, and jazzy, Haydée Milanés is an influential part of the Cuban fusion scene. She began playing piano at the age of six and singing at the Manuel Saumell Conservatory, where she studied music theory and choral direction at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory. Haydée's father Pablo, widely known as "Pablito," was one of the founders of the Cuban nueva trova. By the age of 15, he was active in "bohemian" musical circles and associated with the "filin" musicians.
