About

Showcasing a style often described as shy, sultry, and jazzy, Haydée Milanés is an influential part of the Cuban fusion scene. She began playing piano at the age of six and singing at the Manuel Saumell Conservatory, where she studied music theory and choral direction at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory. Widely known as “Pablito,” Haydée Milanés’s father Pablo Milanés is a singer, songwriter, guitar player, and one of the founders of the Cuban nueva trova. By the age of 15, he was active in "bohemian" musical circles and associated with the "filin" musicians. He has issued more than 40 solo records, and many more in collaboration with other artists from Cuba, Latin America, and Spain.
