Join us for a FREE conversation with San Francisco Ballet’s renowned artistic director Helgi Tomasson, hosted by Michael Breeden and Rebecca Ferraro of the popular dance podcast Conversations on Dance. Tomasson will discuss the company’s groundbreaking Unbound festival—from which works will be performed at the Kennedy Center during the week of the conversation. The event will be recorded live for an episode for Conversations on Dance.

Helgi Tomasson is artistic director of San Francisco Ballet, taking the reins after a storied career as a dancer at New York City Ballet and other companies. Under his guidance, SF Ballet has achieved recognition as one of the finest ballet companies in the world. Tomasson is regarded as one of the supreme classical dancers of his generation. His uncompromising commitment to classicism remains his preoccupation as a choreographer, teacher, and coach, and is the foundation of SF Ballet School’s training. Tomasson left the stage in 1985, when he became artistic director of SF Ballet. He brought to this position a gift for choreographing and for teaching, a dynamic vision, and the pursuit of excellence.

Conversations on Dance is a lively and engaging new podcast giving audiences an inside look into the world of ballet and professional dance. Breeden and Ferraro discuss ballet training, techniques, choreography, and conduct interviews with some of the ballet world's best and brightest.
