About

Villains and vixens, maidens and madmen, lovers and liars, hunchbacks and henchmen. Good vs. evil has always made for riveting opera--and tonight, get ready for operatic thrills and chills that will keep you on the edge of your seat (or if you're on the lawn, the edge of your blanket!). Emil de Cou leads dramatic solo, ensemble, and choral excerpts from opera masterpieces, including Puccini's Tosca and Madama Butterfly; Bizet's Carmen; Wagner's Die Walküre; and four by Verdi: La forza del destino, Il trovatore, Rigoletto, and Aida. Plus, don't miss a dash of opera on Broadway with the comic melodrama of Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado and the macabre delights of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Gloom and doom have never been so much fun!
