The world's largest arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is a crucible for the creation of new and experimental work, a place where talent is often unveiled. The Kennedy Center's ON THE FRINGE: Eye on Edinburgh
celebrates the spirit of artistic entrepreneurship that exists in Edinburgh each summer in a showcase of some imaginative new work from that fertile environment. Presentations include theater, free performances on the Millennium Stage, performance art, and installations in the public spaces of the Center.
Set on the night of Ridgefield's first annual talent show, Ridgefield Middle School Talent Nite
is an unrestrained showcase of the passionate and the ugly created and performed by Jo Firestone
and Dylan Marron
. From the highly choreographed lip-synch duo to the ex-convict janitor to the happily unmarried assistant principal with an affinity for shapeless dresses, the 2010 Capital Fringe production is a tribute to the days when it couldn't get any better than slow dancing and orange soda. DC Theatre Scene
characterized it as "endearing goofiness…good fun!"
