IRELAND 100: Celebrating a Century of Irish Arts & Culture
Outdoor Green Space: Uilleann Pipes with Gay McKeon, Emmett Gill,
and Amy Campbell, with Catherine McEvoy on Irish flute
May 20 at 6:30 p.m.; May 21 at 1:30 p.m.
Free, no tickets required.

Experienced uilleann pipers Gay McKeon and Emmett Gill will be joined by a talented teen piper--Amy Campbell, who is blind--along with Catherine McEvoy on Irish flute. The group will give performances and demonstrations of the traditional Irish pipes, introducing audiences to the rich history of the uilleann pipes.

McKeon and Gill are members of Na Píobairí Uilleann (NPU), the Irish Society of Uilleann Pipers, and Amy Campbell is a piping student at NPU. When NPU was founded in Dublin in 1968, there were less than 100 uilleann pipers remaining; today NPU is a thriving arts organization dedicated to sharing the sound of Ireland through access, education, performance, and preservation.

Performance Timing: 30 minutes
