About

In this special live performance event, presented in collaboration with the Apollo, Ta-Nehisi Coates's riveting second book is presented as a letter of lessons to his son, and brought to life through interspersed music, visual projections, and monologue-style readings by notable guest artists. This intimate portrait in a time of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown asks how we have a conversation of race and politics with the next generation and with ourselves. With a message that is both timely and urgent, Between the World and Me uses creative expression and narrative to interrogate the truth.
