She was the driving force behind the rise of the nueva canción movement, which heralded the emergence of political protest music across Argentina and Chile during the 1960s. Mercedes Sosa has since become one of the most formidable symbols of Argentine life. She brings her fearless voice and songs of struggle and pride to the Kennedy Center, in a powerful and moving concert.

de la nueva canción, que presagió el surgimiento de música
