For more than seven decades, the indefatigable jazz pianist, composer, radio host, and educator has been one of the world's most important jazz ambassadors. As "The First Lady of Piano Jazz" (New York Newsday), Marian McPartland celebrates her 89th birthday in a concert that will also feature a surprise special guest and be recorded for future broadcast on National Public Radio's Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz. Part of Jazz in Our Time.
