About the Program
Freddy Cole's suave vocals and robust piano playing are among the most acclaimed in jazz. The Chicago Sun-Times says he "gathers the words and music up in his natural warmth, and creates the illusion of letting them speak for themselves." Cole rings in 2007 with the Dizzy Gillespie™ All-Star Big Band, an elite corps of jazz giants led by music director and NEA Jazz Master Slide Hampton.
