About the Program

Join the Kennedy Center and National Public Radio when top jazz pianists and other artists perform their favorite holiday songs. An annual NPR tradition, the concert will be produced for later broadcast. This year's performers include New Orleans pianist Allen Toussaint; pianist Cedar Walton; pianist Eric Reed; pianist Geoffrey Keezer and vocalist Nancy King; Latin Grammy-nominated Brazilian pianist Jovino Santos Neto; Tigran Hamasyan, the winner of the 2006 Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition; and more. Last year's concerts--which featured Marcia Ball, Dave Samuels, Dr. Billy Taylor, and others--were hailed as an "imaginative and glowing holiday celebration of contrasts and inventiveness" by the Washington Post.
