Ben Ratliff of the New York Times praised Reeves as "a jazz singer of frequently astonishing skill, [who] takes the assignment seriously; this is one of the best jazz Christmas CDs I've heard." Renowned for her virtuosity and improvisational prowess, Reeves was awarded the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Performance for four consecutive recordings--a Grammy first in any vocal category.
