About the Program

Wushu is a form of Chinese martial art and a time-honored Chinese tradition. As a sport scheduled to be part of the 2008 Olympic Games, wushu was one of the first cultural events from mainland China to be performed at the Kennedy Center in 1974. Nineteen members of the Beijing Wushu Team will perform a variety of martial arts routines in this special presentation.
