About the Program
Ray Chen, violinNoreen Polera, piano
Australian violinist Ray Chen was the First Prize Winner of the 2009 Queen Elisabeth Violin Competition of Belgium, as well as the 2008-09 YCA International Auditions and the Ronald A. Asherson First Prize. He plays the Macmillan, a 1721 Antonio Stradivarius violin on loan to him through Young Concert Artists. In 2008 he made his debut in Russia, playing Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the Mariinsky Orchestra.
