Lorin Maazel, music director

In his final year as music director of the New York Philharmonic, Lorin Maazel says collaborating with the orchestra showed him "summits and vistas and dimensions that I never thought had existed" (The New York Times). After a six-year absence from Washington, the Philharmonic returns to D.C. with a blockbuster all-Tchaikovsky program.
