About the Program
Known as “El Caballero de la Salsa” (the gentleman of salsa), Gilberto Santa Rosa is one of the most successful vocalists in Puerto Rico. A master of soneo, an improvisational vocal technique, Santa Rosa’s albums have all reached platinum status in Latin America and the U.S. From such smash salsa hits as “Muñeca” and “Cantante de Cartel” to the popular salsa anthem “Perdóname,” his songs continue to top Billboard’s Latin charts. In 1995, he became the first Puerto Rican singer of his generation to perform at Carnegie Hall, and his album Salsa Sinfónica was the first salsa recording to feature a symphony orchestra. All events and artists subject to change without prior notice.
