About the Program

One of France’s cultural treasures, Les Arts Florissants is a multi-faceted Baroque performance ensemble led by American conductor William Christie. His genial insight into Baroque music, especially that of the French school, is recognized the world over. Mr. Christie will lead his ensemble in semi-staged concert versions of two Charpentier works:  La Descente d’Orphée aux Enfersand the ensemble’s signature work,Les Arts Florissants.
