About the Program
Founded in 1968 by Abdel-Halim Caracalla, the artistic director who is credited with "devising and producing…entertaining, exotic, and exciting dance-drama" (Daily Telegraph), Lebanon's Caracalla Dance Theatre is the first and most prominent theater in the Middle East. Their unique language in dance draws on western-style technique fused with Arab traditions. Caracalla performs Knights of the Moon, a theatrical extravaganza out of an epic story staged by an internationally acclaimed creative team with an original musical score and innovative choreography. The production, a tale of jealousy, hidden identities, and love, "blends the great of the Orient with the earthiness of Western modern dance" (Evening Standard). Songs will be performed in Arabic with English surtitles.Performance timing: 1 hour, 57 minutes, including one 20-minute intermission
