About the Program

Curated especially for the ARABESQUE festival, this collection of more than 40 elaborate and colorful dresses worn by women of the Arab world on their wedding days puts the transition from traditional to contemporary style on display. With examples from all 22 countries in the League of Arab States, these dresses capture the exquisite textile arts, decorative jewel-encrusted craftsmanship, and intimate familial traditions of the region.
