VSA Affiliates Worldwide
VSA is an energetic national and international network of cultural and educational organizations developing socially sustainable programs that serve individuals - youth and adults - with disabilities and the communities in which they reside. Participants in the dynamic VSA network host and participate in professional conferences; develop and share resources; provide technical assistance; collaborate on programming, as well as share best practices and strategies for success.
Binding the VSA network together is a commitment to a set of guiding principles and commitment to four priority program areas. VSA network members provide a range of innovative programs in these four areas to meet the local needs of their countries, states and communities.
VSA's priority program areas are:
Arts Education

Programs which support academic learning through the arts and with the arts for students, youth and adults.

Emphasis is on pre-kindergarten through 12th grade populations recieving arts education through appropriate school and community settings

Programs which involve family and community partnerships.
Professional Development

Intensive professional development for teachers, educators, artists, and arts program staff addressing critical skills for including students with disabilities by integrating arts into the classrooms.
Cultural Access

Supporting the infrastructure that supports opportunities for people with disabilities to experience the arts as audience, artist, or arts administrator.

Encouraging educational and cultural institutions to develop the infrastructure that supports physical and programmatic access for people with disabilities
Community Engagement

Programs that support lifelong learning.

Activities by, for and about inclusion in the arts and community life.

Engaging the broader community in discussion and participation in arts, education, and disability issues.
The VSA network, enables VSA programs to reach nearly 7 million people annually, by providing consistent high-quality programs to people with disabilities in their communities.
