Legendary ballerina Suzanne Farrell—inspiration to the 20th century’s foremost choreographer, George Balanchine—has founded a renowned company fully produced by the Kennedy Center. The Los Angeles Times called her international cadre of dancers one of the ten best dance achievements of 2000, singling it out “ for renewing the Balanchine legacy with maximum luster.” In 2001, Suzanne Farrell Ballet performed at the Kennedy Center to glowing reviews: the Washington Post called her production “commanding, daring, and…deeply inquiring.” Her company returns to offer a repertory program of Balanchine works—featuring Chaconne, Raymonda, Who Cares?, and Divertimento No. 15.
