This 90-minute film by Julian Benedikt (1996/1997) traces the history of the famed Blue Note Records label from its infancy in 1939 to the late 1980s, with first-hand interviews, concert film footage, and photographs of the movers and shakers who made the label the world's iconic jazz record company. The film is introduced by Larry Applebaum, Senior Music Reference Specialist, Library of Congress. Followed at 8:30 p.m. by a concert by the Lennie Cuje Band.
