About
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
By Judy Viorst
Composed by Shelley Markham
Directed by Nick Olcott
Part of the Imagination Celebration Season 2000-2001
Ever had a day like this one? Not only does Alexander wake up with gum in his hair, but his mother forgets to pack him dessert. Just when it can't get any worse, there are lima beans for supper and--ugh!--kissing on TV. It's enough to make anyone want to go to Australia. In this hilarious Kennedy Center-commissioned and produced adaptation of her popular children's book, Judith Viorst sets Alexander's rather trying life to music and brings to the stage one of children's literature's feistiest characters.
